Combining images with text leads to another type of teaching tool. In this case all that is required is an HTML file, a Flash MX file (swf), an image file (jpg), and two text files (txt). One text file contains a list of identifiers associated with the markers placed on the image. The other text file contains a list of the x,y coordinates of the markers that will automatically be placed on the image by the Flash MX program.

This teaching tool can be applied to any image. Extensions to this teaching tool now under development include 1) a Flash MX program that will generate a list of x,y coordinates for the markers; 2) a toggle button that will switch from displaying the countries names to a quiz mode that requires the student to type in the name of the countries.
